Installation & Usage Guide

This guide explains how to install and use the Bug’s Mods Reindeer Ped Script. The script allows players to ride and fly reindeer with full multiplayer synchronization.

📦 Installation (Drag & Drop)

1. Download the resource.

2. Drag the folder [bugsmods-reindeer] into your server’s resources/ directory.

3. Add this to your server.cfg:

ensure [bugsmods-reindeer]

1. Restart your server.

📦 Dependency

This resource requires:

• ox_lib (used for TextUI prompts)

Ensure it starts before the reindeer script:

ensure ox_lib
ensure [bugsmods-reindeer]

🦌 Using the Reindeer Ped

You can use the reindeer ped in any way that suits your server, including:

• Spawning it via a ped or clothing menu

• Adding it to an existing pet / animal script

• Using any other ped management system

⚠️ Important: Bug’s Mods does not provide support for third-party pet script integration. If you add the reindeer to a pet system, follow that script’s documentation.

🎄 Spawn Command

Use:

/reindeer

This will:

• Spawn a reindeer in front of you

• Automatically mount the player

• Track the spawned reindeer so it persists

🦌 Mounting System

Mount

• Press E when near a reindeer

Dismount

• Press F

Rules:

• Dead reindeer cannot be mounted

• Reindeer already being ridden cannot be mounted

• The reindeer becomes invincible while mounted

• A riding animation plays while mounted

📯 Whistle System

• Press H to whistle and call a nearby reindeer

• Plays a whistle animation

• Includes a short cooldown

Whistle behaviour:

• Calls the closest reindeer within range

• Will not call dead reindeer

• Will not call reindeer currently controlled by a player

🚶 Ground Movement (While Mounted)

While riding on the ground:

• W – move forward

• Steering follows the camera direction

• Hold Shift to run

Movement is smooth and task-based.

✈️ Flying System (Mounted)

Takeoff

• Hold Shift + Space to take off

Flying controls

• W – fly forward

• Hold Space – go up

• Release Space – go down

🧭 Flight direction follows the camera — you steer by looking.

Flying features:

• Running animation plays while flying

• Particle effects on takeoff

• Automatically lands when touching the ground

• Fully synced across all players

🦌✨ Flying as the Reindeer (Player Is the Ped)

If your player ped model is a reindeer:

• Press Space to fly

Controls:

• W – forward

• Hold Space – up

• Release Space – down

🧭 Movement follows the camera.

Additional behaviour:

• Running animation plays while flying

• Ragdoll prevention while flying

• Fully synchronized for all players

🌐 Multiplayer Synchronization

The script includes full server-side synchronization:

• Flying movement is synced to all clients

• Smooth interpolation prevents teleporting or jitter

• Syncs both:

  • Mounted reindeer flying

  • Player-reindeer flying

• Automatic cleanup when players disconnect

🖥️ TextUI Prompt (ox_lib)

When near a reindeer, players will see:

[E] Press to ride

The prompt hides when:

• The player is mounted

• No reindeer is nearby

• Third-party pet script support is not provided
